4. Born in Toledo, Ohio, USA, traveled around while in the navy, and settled as a teacher in Hawaii for ten years.
5. I currently live in Kaefertal, Germany near Mannheim. Kaefertal means Beatle Valley.
6. There I taught 6th-and 7th grade language arts and social studies four years before becoming the Mannheim Middle School’s Educational technologist this past year.
7. Favorite read The Big Switch: Rewiring the World, from Edison to Google Favorite pop songs “Lost Coastlines” by Okkerville River & “Killer Kazinski” by Mando Diao because you can tell the bands’ hearts are totally in it.
8. Even in a time of elephantine vanity and greed, one never has to look far to see the campfires of gentle people. Garrison Keilor
9. Hiking is my passion. There are a couple pictures of me on my 2004 5-month hike of the Pacific Crest Trail going from Mexico to Canada through California, Oregon, and Washington. I also love getting middle-schoolers to express themselves without fear.
